Dream Nursery

I'm soo excited to share this family lifestyle session with you all. This session was shot in a clients' nursery and I've been envying the space ever since. So much natural light, creamy white walls and furniture, with natural green and grey accents-- I was in heaven. In fact, after this session I went home and painted my own bedroom the same white colour as this space. It's true. Shout out to my husband for being so on board with all my spontaneous photography ideas. And for staying up until 2 AM with me painting. So if you're as in love with this creamy light look as I am, come on over with your little ones and get some cozy shots in my new "studio."

How you doin?

This little guy was so expressive! Every click was a different face. I got tons of great awake shots and then we swaddled him and he was asleep instantly!

The girls asked if they could blow a kiss at their new brother. I said OF COURSE. Are you kidding me? So cute. I love it when little kids have ideas about what to do in photos. I always try it, even if the parents think it's a little silly. I do this for a few reasons, A) I want kids to feel included and comfortable in the session, B) they often have great ideas that I didn't think of, C) I'm trying to get photos that are NATURAL, what better way than letting the kids lead the way? And how much cuter is this photo knowing that it was the kids idea instead of mine? I think the magic sometimes gets lost trying to stick families into cookie cutter poses. Okay mini rant over.

One of my favourite shots from the session. I'm all about backlighting lately and the layout of this space allowed me to do that in so many of the photos. I'm in love! Also can we talk about how beautiful this mama is? If you only saw this picture I think we'd all assume this was her first babe, not her fourth! What a rockstar!
